Another study has found T-Mobile to have one of the fastest 5G mobile networks.
According to SpeedSmart, a speed test service, T-Mobile has one of the best 5G networks to get the most out of the iPhone 15.
SpeedSmart measured average 5G download speeds, upload speeds, and latency for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon across 10 U.S. metro markets in New York, New York, Chicago, Illinois, Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Arizona, Los Angeles, California, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
On average in those locations, T-Mobile had the highest 5G download and upload speeds followed by Verizon and AT&T, respectively. Verizon eked out ahead of the Un-Carrier for lowest latency, or the lag time between when you tap your phone and when the network responds, with AT&T in third place.
The data comes as top-notch mobile performance is in high demand. Smartphones are capable of far more than they once were, and with so much of our daily lives requiring a connection, speed is key. Each wireless carrier is also jockeying for the reputation as the best and fastest network, which is a key factor in winning over customers.
So far, T-Mobile has proven itself a worthy 5G competitor several times over the last year.
Just this month the carrier reached record-breaking upload speeds during a test with Nokia and Qualcomm. These speeds could be available on devices by 2025.
In January, T-Mobile ranked first for all overall network experience metrics along with 5G download speeds, coverage experience, availability, and consistent quality experience for the second year in a row.
T-Mobile wasn’t immediately available for comment.
