T-Mobile has had a strong start to 2024.
The mobile “un-carrier” said it ranked first for all overall network experience metrics along with 5G download speeds, coverage experience, availability, and consistent quality experience, according to a new Opensignal report.
“Did we mention it was a clean sweep?” T-Mobile said of its overall experience wins in a release Tuesday.
The new report comes after T-Mobile took home wins from Opensignal in July for its overall network and 5G performance. Like the July report, Tuesday’s data also shows T-Mobile beating out AT&T and Verizon in download and upload speeds.
Opensignal found that T-Mobile’s average download speeds are more than 2.5 times faster than AT&T’s and nearly three times faster that Verizon’s. In addition, T-Mobile’s upload speeds are almost twice as fast as AT&T’s and almost 1.5 times as fast as Verizon’s.
T-Mobile also came out on top for video, live video, and games experience.
The report also found that T-Mobile’s 5G download speeds were more than 1.5 times faster than Verizon and AT&T. In addition, T-Mobile’s 5G users spend 4.3 times more time connected to 5G than AT&T users and 7.4 times more than Verizon users.
The wins bode well for the carrier’s current and prospective future customers as well as how T-Mobile fares among mobile competitors.
In the third quarter of 2023, T-Mobile reported strong mobile growth. The carrier added 1.3 million new customers — prepaid and postpaid — for a total of 117.9 customers.
