Influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotion’s women’s boxing brand, MVPW, has announced its upcoming card for MVPW-02: Baumgardner vs. Shin, streaming on the ESPN App. The event features unified world title action in the main event and a deep, television-ready undercard.
A 10-round, unified WBA/WBO/IBF super featherweight world title fight between Alycia Baumgardner and Bo Mi Re Shin is set to headline. The inaugural U.S. event for the year-round women’s boxing series takes place on Friday, April 17, at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden and will be available for no additional cost for ESPN App subscribers.
“MVPW was created to give the best women in boxing the same platform, spotlight, and opportunity as male counterparts in the sport, and this card shows exactly what that looks like,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions.

Combat Sports Built for the Streaming Era
MVP’s push into app-first and mainstream platforms is broader than this single boxing series. The promoter helped bring Taylor vs. Serrano 3, the first all-women’s professional card, to Madison Square Garden and has aggressively pursued major streaming partnerships and spectacle events.
Last month, the promotion partnered with Netflix for a high-profile MMA return and superfight between Rhonda Rousey and Gina Carano set for May 16. Live from the Intuit Dome, the event will be MVP’s first MMA fight and features a stacked card for Netflix’s global audience. Beyond the headliners, announced bouts inside the hexagonal ring include Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry and Frances Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins.
A month later, ESPN and MVPW agreed to a multi-year deal that made the network and its streaming app the go-to destination for high-stakes women’s championship-level cards. The inaugural event, MVPW-01, is set for Sunday, April 5, at Olympia London, headlined by a 10-round unification bout between WBC lightweight champion Caroline Dubois and WBO titleholder Terri Harper.

Whether streaming on ESPN or Netflix, MVP and MVPW have adapted to how viewers consume live sports with a streaming-first approach. Instead of the old traditional PPV model, the promotion is pushing women’s combat sports into the mainstream with app-first distribution rather than behind an extra paywall.
