March Madness 2024 continues with a trip to the Final Four on the line when USC and UCONN go head-to-head in the Elite 8. April Fools Day is more than just jokes as competitors will be competing for a chance at glory.
The UCONN Huskies are the most successful women’s college basketball program in the country, with 11 national title banners to their name. However, their last title came in 2016, and they were runner-ups in 2022. UConn head coach Geno Auriemma, one of the sport’s most successful coaches, looks to add another banner with the Huskies being led by 2-time Big East Player of the Year and former Naismith College Player of the Year Paige Bueckers aka Paige Buckets.
The USC Lady Trojans are led by freshman sensation and No. 1 player in the 2023 class JuJu Watkins. The point guard won Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and has broken many records, including the most points scored in a game at USC with 51, and is seven points shy of the most points scored by a freshman in women’s college hoops. Watkins and the Lady Trojans are looking to advance to their first Final Four since 1986 with their last national title coming in 1984.
College basketball fans have plenty of games to stream outside of the women’s Big Dance. The men’s March Madness games are ongoing as they head to the Elite 8.
