Earlier this year, it was announced that the critically-acclaimed series, Ted Lasso, was renewed for a fourth season. Jason Sudeikis is set to reprise his role as the titular character in the Emmy-winning comedy about an optimistic football coach.

Fans will be happy to know that filming for the upcoming season has begun, according to a report from Variety. Currently, the show is filming in Kansas City, with additional filming taking place in London. The new season will focuse on a women’s team, with the reported logline:

“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

Fans can expect numerous familiar and fresh faces joining Sudeikis in Season 4. Per the report, original cast members Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are returning to the critically-acclaimed series. New members joining the ensemble include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. Their roles are undisclosed, but Feely will portray Ted’s son, Henry Lasso.

Since its premiere in 2020, Ted Lasso has been a hit with critics and audiences alike. The soccer series has scored many prestigious award wins, including a Peabody Award, multiple Golden Globes and 13 Emmy Award nominations across 61 nominations, and was once the most popular streaming show by TVision.
