Yesterday, we shared the news that Sinclair will be rebranding TBD to ROAR. Now, Sinclair has made the news official, confirming the rebrand date of April 28.

With the rebrand, the channel will focus on comedy, with the company noting “the network’s shift to broadcasting ground-breaking comedy franchises that deliver the funniest, most memorable, uproarious humor on TV.” That shift began late last year, when TBD acquired rights to comedy series including Saturday Night Live, Whose Line is it Anyway, Key & Peele and Punk’d

“The launch of ROAR marks the completion of a plan we set in motion 14 months ago—to position the network as a clear alternative to the traditional sitcom-based multicast networks by broadcasting live, audience based, comedy franchises. The new identity truly reflects the network’s energy and ambition for audiences and advertisers alike,” said Adam Ware, SVP, Growth Networks Group.

Viewers can watch ROAR for free over-the-air and can stream it live with Fubo or YouTube TV.
