New data released by Nielsen reveals streaming viewership was at an all-time high during the week of Christmas, with U.S. viewers spending 183 billion minutes in front of their TVs. This new record number beats out previous landmarks set in March 2020 when stay-at-home orders first sweeped the U.S. and viewers clocked 160 billion minutes, as well as the whopping 178 billion minutes watched during the week of Thanksgiving just a month earlier.

Netflix was the most popular streaming service people were using in December holding 6.4%, followed by YouTube including YouTube TV which sat at 5.8%. Hulu, Prime Video and Disney+ were also popular choices.
