How to watch the Minnesota Timberwolves

The T-Wolves haven’t qualified for the playoffs in three years. Still they start off the 2021-2022 with high hopes and three wins in the pre-season. The squad also pulled out a W for their first game of the new season. Can they become an emerging force in the Western Conference? Tuning in live is the best way to find out. And you don’t need traditional cable to do it.

Fans can keep up with the Minnesota Timberwolves from beyond the Twin Cities even if they don’t subscribe to cable. And we’re here to lay it all out for you. This guide covers which streaming services have the channels you’ll need to stream the Wolves. We’ll also get into the important stuff — like the price tag. Go ahead, ditch your cable — you can still catch the excitement for the upcoming season using live streaming.

What Channels Show Minnesota Timberwolves Games?

The main channel needed to stream Timberwolves games is Bally Sports North. It’s a regional sports network, and most of the team’s games air on this channel. Unfortunately, Bally Sports Networks are increasingly difficult to get using streaming services. But fans in the Timberwolves market might be able to tune in with a digital TV antenna.

The Timberwolves also play games aired on Bally Sports Wisconsin, which is another Bally Sports Network that’s difficult to stream in regions outside the Timberwolves market. ESPN and NBA TV both show Timberwolves live streams, as well. These channels are national and much easier to access for fans across the country.

We also included ABC and TNT in our reviews, because both channels feature NBA games and analysis. Want to know how to stream Timberwolves games? Let’s take a look at the top streaming services to see how their channel selections stack up for Wolves fans.

If you miss a Timberwolves game live and want to record it for later viewing, the Cloud DVR is a helpful feature. Hulu also has original programming and documentaries available. Sling TV allows subscribers to choose their channel selection with two different packages, Sling Blue and Sling Orange.

Sling Orange is the best bet for Timberwolves fans. The package features 30+ channels, including ESPN and TNT. If you sign up for the Sports Extra add-on, you can also access NBA TV through Sling TV.

Like the other streaming platforms profiled here, Sling Orange does not carry either of the Bally Sports networks needed to watch most of the Timberwolves regular season games. How to Watch the Minnesota Timberwolves on DirecTV Stream

  • Price: $70/mo.
  • Free Trial: None
  • DVR hours: 20

DirecTV Stream is a fairly new streaming option. The platform used to be called AT&T TV, but rebranded in late 2021. You can watch Bally Sports North and Bally Sports Wisconsin using a high-tier DirecTV Stream plan, which is a major win for T-Wolves fans. The most affordable plan is just $70/mo., but plan prices run all the way to $140/mo. More expensive plans include features like HBO Max and thousands of additional on-demand titles.

Subscribers also have access to ESPN, ABC and TNT. If you miss a game, just record it for later viewing using the 20 hours of cloud DVR storage. Not enough space to record the whole game plus your weekly primetime shows? You can upgrade your DVR storage to an unlimited DVR plan for just $10 per month.

While AT&T TV used to require a two-year commitment, you can now enjoy the platform on a month-to-month basis. That means no first-year price and second-year price hike! Just sign up for the plan you want, then change it later if it doesn’t offer enough T-Wolves action. High-tier plans include all major premium movie channels, including HBO Max and Showtime.

The Final Cut

After finishing the year without earning a playoff spot, the Wolves have some work to do before the new season starts. If the team can recapture some of the fire they had just a few years ago, then the Timberwolves should be back in action and thrilling fans before the season is through.
