Here is Everything We Know About the New HBO Max Streaming Service

We’re getting closer to the launch date of several new streaming services, and we’ve been learning more about each of them. In this post, we’re sharing details from the upcoming AT&T streaming service, HBO Max.

The Name

After some speculation about what AT&T would call their new stream service, and months of media outlets referring to it as the Warner Media streaming service, we now know that the name will be HBO Max.

The Launch

Originally, we heard that the streaming service would launch in late 2019. AT&T has now confirmed that HBO Max will launch in Spring 2020.

The Price

The cost of HBO Max has not been confirmed yet, but we’ve seen reports that the cost will be $16-17 per month.

The Content 

We now know that when HBO Max launches, we’ll be seeing a library of existing HBO content, Warner Media content, and many new original shows. The library will be huge, with AT&T announcing that we’ll be seeing 10,000 hours of premium content from the following networks:

Since the announcement of the name of this streaming service and the content that will be available, there have been a lot of questions about what this means for HBO Now and HBO Go. In a statement, AT&T said that they would not be eliminating the two existing services when HBO Max launches.
