DIRECTV NOW Has Started to Add More NBC Affiliates

A few weeks ago DIRECTV NOW announced plans to add 40 more locals from ABC, NBC, and FOX. Now it looks like it has started to do just that.

In its press release about the new locals DIRECTV NOW said, “When we add these and other affiliates in the coming weeks, we’ll offer over 170 live local channels on DIRECTV NOW in more than 80 markets.”

Yesterday NBC affiliates started to show up in new markets if you searched for them. This is similar to what happened with CBS a few weeks ago before they went live on DIRECTV NOW. We can confirm that the Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV, owned by the Graham Holdings Company, is now showing up on DIRECTV NOW search.

The Graham Holdings Company owns three NBC affiliates including the NBC affiliate for Houston, Texas. This does not mean all of the affiliates will be added at once, because DIRECTV NOW has a recent history of just rolling out channels as soon as they are ready unlike other services that typically like to group them together and roll out a long list of locals at once.

Have you seen any new locals on DIRECTV NOW? Leave us a comment and let us know. If you want to find out if NBC is being added in your area just search for NBC or NBC shows in the guide. If they are being added it should show up.
