The 16 Bally Sports Regional Sports Network are now officially the FanDuel Sports Networks as announced on the company’s X, (formerly Twitter) page.

Last week, it was reported that the Bally Sports RSNs, the nation’s leading provider of local sports, would be rebranded on October 21. Fans can still expect their MLB, NBA, and NHL games to air on the platform as usual.

This change reflects FanDuel’s exclusive naming rights across Diamond’s entire portfolio, including its digital platforms and direct-to-consumer (DTC) products.

“Collaborating with FanDuel provides a tremendous pathway for Diamond to elevate the fan experience and deepen the incremental value we provide for our team, league and distribution partners,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond.

The partnership extends beyond naming rights, encompassing a range of initiatives designed to enhance the fan experience and capitalize on the growing convergence of sports and online gaming:

  • Media Integration: FanDuel will have prominent placement and integration opportunities across all live NBA, NHL, and MLB games broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network.
  • Unified DTC App: The companies are exploring the development of a unified DTC app that would combine live sports streaming with FanDuel TV programming, including popular shows like “Up & Adams” and “Run It Back.”
  • Reseller Agreement: FanDuel will become a reseller of Diamond’s DTC product, expanding its reach and offering fans a seamless way to access live sports content.

Mike Raffensperger, President of Sports at FanDuel, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership: “Partnering with Diamond provides us an opportunity to put the FanDuel brand at the intersection of the nation’s largest group of regional sports networks.”

As part of the change, streamers and viewers will notice that their Bally Sports RSN will be rebranded under the FanDuel Sports Network name. For example, Bally Sports Florida and Bally Sports North are now FanDuel Sports Network Florida and FanDuel Sports Network North, respectively.

It has been a rough six years for the Bally Sports RSNs, as the company has reportedly lost nearly 97% of its value since 2018. This collaboration is poised to transform the way fans engage with their favorite teams and leagues. Another stream of income could be unlocked by integrating live sports, online gaming, and interactive content, as FanDuel and Diamond Sports Group are creating a new paradigm for sports entertainment.

Right now, you can find all 16 of the FanDuel Sports Networks on DIRECTV STREAM, and Fubo. It remains to be seen if their distribution will expand to other live TV streaming platforms.

If you have the Bally Sports app, it should update to the FanDuel Sports Network app if you have automatic update enabled. You can also find the FanDuel Sports Network app in the Play Store and App Store.
