Amazon will hold its big annual devices event tomorrow, which is the company’s opportunity to refresh a number of products in its increasingly large lineup. As with previous years, we’re hoping for updates to multiple devices, including new Fire TV sticks, Echo speakers and displays, Ring cameras, Blink devices, and a eero WiFi.

Update: Amazon has announced all the new products today. You can learn more about the new Fire TVs HERE.

David Limp, Amazon’s senior vice president of devices and services, posted this tease on his LinkedIn account:

“The Devices & Services team has already had a very busy year, and now that Amazon’s HQ2 is officially open, it only feels right to gather there in a few months to share a bit more of what we’ve been working on. Mark your calendar for 9/20 for some news from us!”

It’s a bit of a transition year for Amazon, with Limp having announced his retirement, which means the September 20 event will mark his final one on stage for this event. That’s a big shift, with Limp having set the tone for the company’s innovative drive with devices. The online retail giant has reportedly hired Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay as its new devices head. Coincidentally, Microsoft will hold its own Surface event on Thursday.

Unlike other product events, Amazon’s livestream won’t be available to the public. But Cord Cutters News will be tuning in and will provide real-time updates.

Here are the devices we think are most likely for Amazon to announce tomorrow:

Fire TVs:

According to recent FCC filings, new Fire TV models are some of the most likely devices to be shown off. One Fire TV device will support the WiFi 6 standard, and another will support the latest WiFi 6E standard, which offers higher wireless speeds at a higher frequency. This likely points to a standard Fire TV Stick and a higher-end model. It’s likely to be a new Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Leading up to this event, Amazon has had the Fire TVs on sale for weeks now. As a result, both the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K could be updated as Amazon clears out stock.

The current Fire TV Stick 4K Max was released back in early October 2021, with Amazon’s history of updating Fire TV models every two years, it makes sense that it would get a refresh this year.

Echo speakers and displays:

It is also very possible that Amazon will announce new Echos. It’s been two years since the company launched a main Echo speaker, with the smaller Echo Dots getting their refresh in 2022.

Amazon could also introduce new version of its smart displays. The Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 10 are both over two years old and could see their own refresh like the Amazon Echo. This makes it likely we may see one or more Echo devices this year.

eero WiFi Mesh Network

Amazon’s mesh WiFi is one of the best out there. Its standard eero 6 Mesh WiFi router will be three years old later this year. There is a newer, more expensive Pro Verison, but it is possible Amazon will release a cheaper standard eero mesh WiFi network.

Fire Tablets

Amazon released a new Fire Tablet Max 11 earlier this summer, but a smaller Fire Tablet 7 update is still a possibility. We will have to wait and see what will happen.

Alexa Improvements?

Amazon essentially created the smart speaker market by packing in Alexa, a digital assistant that actually worked. It’s steadily grown in capability, but with the rise of artificial intelligence systems like ChatGPT, Amazon may take some time to talk about some of the enhanced features of the assistant.

That’s what we think could be announced tomorrow. We will have full coverage of everything Amazon announces tomorrow.
