Apple announced that it has raised the price of it’s streaming service, Apple TV+. Beginning today, August 21, the price of Apple TV+ will be $12.99 per month, up $3 from $9.99, for new customers. Existing customers will see the increase within 30 days.

The annual cost of Apple TV+ will remain at $99.99 and the price of Apple One, the bundle of Apple services, will remain starting at $19.95 per month. Subscribers in “select international markets” will see the price increase, along with the U.S.

The last time the streaming service saw a price hike was in October 2023, when the price also jumped $3, from $6.99 per month to $9.99 per month.

Will the new, higher price be worth it for subscribers? We recently learned that Apple will not be renewing its agreement with the MLB to host Friday Night Baseball. However, soccer fans can still sign on for the MLS Season Pass add-on. Ted Lasso will be back on Apple TV+ for a fourth season, and the streamer just released the trailer for the next season of The Morning Show.

Apple has set itself apart from the competition by focusing on original content. Despite a subscriber base of over 45 million in 2024, a report by The Information said that the company was losing over $1 billion annually due to the high cost of creating that content.
