Golf fans have taken to social media with complaints about the broadcast of the 2025 Ryder Cup.
Golfweek reported that the USA Network was having sound issues at the beginning of the live coverage, including missing sound from the crowd and delayed sound when the ball was hit. Viewers have also been commenting on the amount of commercial breaks during the coverage, with messages like “I love commercials with a side of Ryder Cup.”
YouTube TV subscribers had another issue. Because NBC and USA are providing Ryder Cup coverage, part of the screen has been taken over by a message about the potential carriage dispute between the network and the streamer. The message says “Attention YouTube TV Customers: YouTube TV is at it again and may drop this channel and your favorite sports and shows. Go to GetyourChannels.com to learn more.”
The YouTube TV Help Page shared the following message, shared on the YouTube TV support social media accounts:
Hi everyone,
We’re aware some of you are experiencing issues watching The Ryder Cup on YouTube TV.
Our teams are actively investigating this issue! We’ll update this thread as soon as we have new information. Thanks for your patience!
The current YouTube TV and NBC deal expires on September 30. If no agreement is reached by then, YouTube TV subscribers could lose access to NBC’s channels and programming including Sunday Night Football, NBA, Big Ten Football, WWE, Premier League, Saturday Night Live, The Voice, The Real Housewives, and more.
