YouTube TV has introduced a significant update to its subscription model with a new system that allows users to find personalized plans tailored precisely to their viewing habits. This feature moves away from a one-size-fits-all approach by offering multiple discounted bundles drawn from the service’s channel lineup, enabling users to pay less for the content they actually watch while retaining core platform benefits.
YouTube TV now has 12 discounted bundle options, focusing on genre-based groupings such as sports, entertainment, news, and family programming. These bundles combine channels in ways that reduce costs compared to the standard base plan, which remains available at its higher price point. Subscribers can mix and match categories to form combinations that fit their preferences, resulting in savings that vary depending on the selected mix. For instance, standalone options emphasize specific interests, while layered bundles provide broader access at intermediate rates, all designed to align more closely with individual consumption patterns.
To access this customization on the YouTube TV website (this won’t work on streaming players or mobile devices), users start by clicking their profile icon in the top right corner. Under the section displaying the current plan, an option appears to Explore Plans. Within that area, a prompt leads to exploring available plans overall. The system first presents several recommended packages that YouTube TV determines as the best matches, drawing from the user’s viewing history and patterns to suggest options likely to suit their needs.
If you want more options at the bottom, YouTube TV now gives subscribers the option to tell YouTube TV exactly what they want, and YouTube TV will recommend new options to you.
Sadly, with this, some options may be hidden until you fill out the list of what you want. For example, we were unable to find just the sports package until we told YouTube TV we only wanted sports.
Here is what that looks like:

An option labeled as needing a different plan accompanies a button to find a suitable one. Selecting this directs users through a short series of questions about their viewing priorities, such as favored genres, specific types of content, or must-have channels. Based on the responses, the platform generates a fresh set of plan recommendations optimized to deliver relevant channels while minimizing unnecessary expenses.
