Recently YouTube TV expanded support for 60 FPS to LG WEBos TVs. From our understanding, this is the first time YouTube TV has added 60 FPS support to a smart TV.

So, what is FPS? Frames per second (FPS) tells you how many times the image on your screen is refreshed every second. The more frames, the smoother the image looks. For a scripted drama 30 FPS will look great; however, for faster action such as sports, many want 60 FPS to help the action look smooth on the screen.

Not only does YouTube TV support 60 FPS on locals like NBC and CBS but also on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News, SEC Network, FS1, FS2, BTN, FX, FXX, FXM, Regional Fox Sports Networks, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, and Fox Soccer Plus.

Not all devices support 60 FPS for YouTube TV. Currently, YouTube TV supports 60 FPS on devices like Chromecast Ultra, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV, iOS, some Roku devices, and a few other devices.

If you notice 60 FPS support on other devices, please leave a comment and let us know.
