YouTube TV Confirms Multiview is Now Available on Android Phones & Tablets Devices

Love YouTube TV’s multiview on your TV? Wish you could watch multiple games on your mobile devices? Now it seems YouTube TV has started to roll out multiview to mobile devices, letting you catch more than one March Madness game on your phone at once. This first rolled out back in March to iPhones and iPads, and now it’s on Android devices, as first spotted back at the end of April but is now confirmed by Google.

This all comes as in Janurary, Cord Cutters News reported that Google was testing letting customers pick what games would be in their YouTube TV multiview window. YouTube TV last Februrary officially announced this new feature and is rolling it out to users.

One of YouTube TV’s best features is the ability to let you watch up to four sporting or news events at once on the same screen. The only downside has been the fact that customers have been unable to pick what games are in these windows. Instead, YouTube TV gives you a number of premade multiview options to pick from. Now, though, with YouTube TV you can build your own multiview from a pre-selected list of games.

Google confirmed to Cord Cutters News again to clarify that this new update makes it easier to find the combinations of available multiview experiences vs. creating new customer feeds for each user.

Late last year, YouTube TV started to give some NBA League Pass subscribers the ability to pick which games they want to watch from a handful of games in a list. From there, YouTube TV would create a multiview channel for you to watch the games you pick. Google says this feature is coming to all devices that support multiview and that you can only create these channels from preselected sporting events. Sadly, you can’t pick any channel you want but only from a list of preselected games to create your own multiview channel. It’s also limited to sports, so no other channels will work with this.

Offering the ability to pick your games could address many unhappy customers. Often customers struggle to find the games they want in the same multiview window. Now with this new feature its easy to find just the games you want.

Google had confirmed in the past that they are trying to work on an option to give customizable multiview to YouTube TV subscribers. One example of YouTube TV confirming hope for this feature is YouTube’s official X account saying “we’re only sharing curated multiview streams from YouTube TV for this initial launch, but we’re hoping to make this customizable for you in the future”
