Late yesterday YouTube TV quietly added two new channels from AMC. These two channels include AMC Thrillers and Portlandia IFC.

Both of these channels are free ad-supported channels and are one more example of TV services bundling these free channels into their paid services. These channels include older AMC-owned content now available through YouTube TV.

Update: YouTube TV has also added Overtime channel to its Sports Plus add-on.

YouTube TV has also added the ability to mark a TV show episode as watched so it will stop being recommended to you. This will help address one major complaint about YouTube TV that it always is recommending things you have already watched. Sadly though for now you can only mark content as watched on your mobile device or computer.

This comes as YouTube TV has slowly been rolling out new features and content to its platform as it has become the most subscribed live TV streaming service in the United States.

Here is how YouTube TV describes this new feature:

If you want to improve your recommendations and search results, you can also mark TV show episodes as watched. Any episode(s) marked as watched will be automatically added to your watch history.

If you have watch history paused, you will not be able to mark shows as watched. You can turn watch history back on at any time to use this feature.

To mark a video as watched on a mobile device:

  1. Locate the TV show episode you want to mark as watched.
  2. Long press on that episode.
  3. From the menu that appears, tap Mark as watched.

To mark a video as watched on a computer:

  1. Locate the TV show episode you want to mark as watched.
  2. Click on the More  next to the episode.
  3. From the menu that appears, select Mark episode as watched.
