Back in November 2018, YouTube quietly added about 100 hours of movies to its platform. These movies are 100% free with ads and include a mix of well-known movies like The Terminator, Lord of War, Meatballs, and more. Now YouTube has tripled the number of movies it is offering for free and started to promote the free movies on YouTube’s home page.

The growth of ad-supported streaming services has taken off as advertisers take notice of the opportunities streaming offers. Walmart and Roku have both recently launched free services joining Pluto TV, Tubi, and Sony Crackle.

It seems YouTube is following in Vudu’s steps hoping that if they offer a free legal way to watch Movies you will stay and buy movies and TV shows through YouTube. YouTube has also improved the quality of the movies you will find streaming for free. There still are many B movies on the list, but increasingly, YouTube has been adding major blockbuster movies from well-known studios.

If you want to find all the movies offered for free legally on YouTube, you can find the full list here.
