Today even more public libraries started to stream on your favorite streaming service thanks to Kanopy. Starting today if your library is partnered with Kanopy you can now stream thousands of movies and TV shows for free on your Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.
“Amazon Fire TV and Android TV have been two of the most requested platforms from our users over the past year and we are excited to make them both available today,” said Kanopy Founder and CEO Olivia Humphrey. “Kanopy presents a unique opportunity for anyone, of any age, to stream world class films and documentaries, kids programs and more just for signing up with their library card.”
The Fire TV and Android TV support join Kanopy apps already available on Apple TV, iOS, Android and Roku apps. Kanopy is free for all with the use of a local library card or access through a University partner. Now, most public libraries offer a streaming option through services like Kanopy. If you are a cord cutter it may be time to give your public library a second look.
