WSAW Expands Free Over-the-Air Coverage with New Transmitter in Central Wisconsin

WSAW, a Gray Television-owned station, has launched a new transmitter in Vesper, Wisconsin, significantly expanding its free, over-the-air coverage in the region. The W31EV-D transmitter, acting as a translator for WZAW-LD, now delivers a variety of popular channels to viewers in Stevens Point, Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, and surrounding areas.

WSAW encourages viewers in the affected areas to rescan their televisions to ensure they are receiving the signal from the new transmitter and can access the full range of channels.

The W31EV-D transmitter operates on physical channel 31 from WSAW’s newest tower in Vesper, with an FCC-licensed effective radiated power (ERP) of 15kW. Reception quality may vary depending on factors such as distance from the transmitter, elevation, and the type of antenna used. Both indoor and rooftop antennas may be suitable options for receiving the signal.
