WSAW, a Gray Television-owned station, has launched a new transmitter in Vesper, Wisconsin, significantly expanding its free, over-the-air coverage in the region. The W31EV-D transmitter, acting as a translator for WZAW-LD, now delivers a variety of popular channels to viewers in Stevens Point, Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, and surrounding areas.

The new lineup includes:

  • 33.1 – FOX WZAW (in HD)
  • 33.2 – MeTV
  • 33.3 – Movies!
  • 33.4 – H&I
  • 33.5 – StartTV
  • 34.10 – Central Wisconsin CW (in HD)

The enhanced coverage and expanded channel offerings aim to provide a superior viewing experience for residents in Central Wisconsin. WSAW encourages viewers in the affected areas to rescan their televisions to ensure they are receiving the signal from the new transmitter and can access the full range of channels.

The W31EV-D transmitter operates on physical channel 31 from WSAW’s newest tower in Vesper, with an FCC-licensed effective radiated power (ERP) of 15kW. Reception quality may vary depending on factors such as distance from the transmitter, elevation, and the type of antenna used. Both indoor and rooftop antennas may be suitable options for receiving the signal.

This expansion of free over-the-air television services reflects WSAW’s commitment to serving its local community and providing access to a diverse range of programming.
