Fans of wrestling, you’re in for a treat! This Wednesday on April 26th, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. ET, Pluto TV’s Fight Channel will premiere WOW! the History of Women’s Wrestling. This documentary will showcase the evolution of women’s wrestling beginning as a fairground sideshow act and growing in popularity until the development of Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) in the 1980s, the first all-female wrestling league.
Wow – Women of Wrestling is the first United States women’s professional wrestling division, founded by David McLane in 2000. Produced by Fishbowl Worldwide Media, will “explore the larger-than-life story behind the evolution of women’s wrestling, from its very beginnings to the success story that we see today with WOW! the History of Women’s Wrestlin.”
It was a rocky road from humble beginnings to the mega force we see today and this documentary will cover it all. Additionally, Reina Del Rey and Samantha Smart will offer commentary and a behind-the-scenes look at the documentary via Pluto TV’s social media Stream-Along.
