Let’s take a look at YouTube TV’s price history.
The live TV streaming service launched at just $35 per month in February 2017. The price went up to $40 per month in March 2018. That price jump came as YouTube TV not only added channels including TBS, CNN, NBA TV, and the MLB Network, but also expanded to 94 markets around the US.
The price of YouTube TV went up again in April 2019, to $49.99 per month. That increase came with the addition of Discovery Networks: Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and MotorTrend.
For comparison, Hulu with Live costs $55 per month, AT&T TV Now starts at $55 per month, and fuboTV also starts at $55 per month.
With the next major update coming this summer with the addition of the ViacomCBS channels, and with a year having passed since the last price increase, it’s likely that YouTube TV subscribers will see another price hike this summer, bringing the price up to match competitors.
