Comcast Cable Truck

Do you still have the same Comcast Xfinity or Spectrum’s internet package you have had for years? It’s likely time to shop around. Just like all things with cable, their internet package slowly goes up over time. So now may be the best time to shop around for a new internet provider as there are now more options than ever for home internet.

This comes as T-Mobile reported that in just three months of the 1st quarter of 2023, T-Mobile added 523,000 home internet customers.

That number is more new home internet customers than AT&T, Comcast, Charter, and Verizon added in the 4th quarter of 2022 combined, according to T-Mobile. This comes as Americans are being drawn to cheaper new options, including T-Mobile’s $50-a-month home internet service.

So, what internet options do you have? The good news is that you have more options than you have ever had. In the past, you may have had just two options. Now there is Fiber, 5G wireless home internet, and even SpaceX’s Starlink are great options.

Even if you just save $20 a month, that can add up over a year to $240.

Here are a few tips:

Make sure to see if Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile offers 5G home internet in your area. You may be surprised how great of an option it is for you. With plans starting at just $25 a month, it can save you a lot of money.

Look around for Fiber options where you live. Facebook groups and Nextdoor is a great places to ask your neighbors what internet providers they use.

If you live in a rural area, you may want to consider SpaceX’s Starlink service. It may to may not be cheaper, but it is one more option you should investigate.

The best part is with all of this, if you end up being unhappy, you can always go back to Comcast later. I highly encourage everyone to shop around and compare prices on your internet service every year. Spending an hour on this could save you a lot of money.
