Do you own a 4K HDR Roku TV? Have you noticed the image is dark and not as nice as a regular HD image? The good news is there is an easy fix for this!

For some reason, Roku TVs default to a dark image setting when watching a 4K stream. This also affects 4K inputs from any device like a PlayStation or Xbox. The good news is there is a quick and very easy fix for this.

How to brigten a Roku TV 4K HDR image:

If you want to make your TV look brighter when playing a 4K HDR Roku image, all you have to do is start a 4K HDR video. Once you are watching a 4K video, click the * key on your Roku remote. That will bring up a menu with options on the screen. Select Picture Settings, and in there, you will be able to set the brightness on the TV to normal.

By changing your TV brightness to normal, you should notice a big jump in the brightness and colors on the screen.

Roku has never said why they set their TVs to default to dark more when using 4K HDR but its something built into the Roku OS.
