In 2024 there are more options than ever to legally watch TV online for free. Services like Pluto TV, Tubi, and The Roku Channel have been joined by a growing number of free services. These services include formerly paid services like Sling TV and Philo launching free versions full of free channels.
In the past many of these services ran old B movies and programs many of us never heard of. Now they are full of some of the best TV shows and movies all streaming for free with ads online legally.
The best part of many of these services is the fact that they also offer free live channels.
A new report from Gavin Bridge, the FastMaster has added them all up and there are now 5,264 free ad-supported channels available across 18 streaming services worldwide.
“The domestic FAST space is definitely maturing. As this report will show, the growth in available channels has begun to slow as the market approaches 2,000 unique channels across tracked services, but it still continues to grow month-to-month,” said Bridge.
This report did not account for repeat channels that show up on multiple services. According to the report, there are 1,943 free channels in the United States.
This all comes as major entertainment giants like Warner Bros. Discovery have jumped all in on free channels, with 46 free channels now streaming on multiple services, including Tubi and The Roku Channel.
Paramount has also been aggressive in launching a new free channel for its Pluto TV streaming service.
If you have not given some of these free services a try or you did years ago maybe it is time to give them a second chance. They are now full of some of the best TV out there and can help you cut back on the number of paid services you use.
