While the originals over at Netflix seem to grab the most attention, Hulu has developed a fairly strong stable of their own original content. The Handmaid’s Tale is the name people know the most, but there are actually several highly anticipated shows dropping soon.

Here’s a look at what’s new on Hulu, specifically focusing on their original shows.

Five can’t miss Hulu Originals:

Solar Opposites – Premiered May 8

The Great – Premiered May 15

Ramy (Season 2)  – Premiers May 29

Handmaid’s Tale (Season 4) – Late summer or fall 2020

Nine Perfect Strangers – Late 2020 or early 2021

Solar Opposites – May 8

Originally set for Fox, Solar Opposites is an animated series from the creators of Rick and Morty. It follows a family of aliens taking refuge in America (a somewhat similar plot to Third Rock From the Sun) and of course adjusting to American customs. Set for two seasons, the series debuts May 8.

The Great – May 15

If you’re expecting Hulu’s take on Catherine the Great to be a grand historic drama, you’ll be disappointed. Instead, it’s sort of Mean Girls meets Game of Thrones where Catherine is a spoiled brat and plenty of violence and sex are sprinkled in. It’s not necessarily historically accurate, but it is fun.

Ramy (Season 2) – May 29

When Ramy Youssef surprised with a Golden Globe award win last year for this series he created, wrote, produced, and starred in, more people started paying attention to Hulu’s Ramy. The part-comedy, part-drama follows a New Jersey Muslim man from an Egyptian family as he’s divided between his faith and his friends. The second season of the highly-acclaimed show hits on May 29.

Handmaid’s Tale (Season 4) – Late summer or fall 2020

By far the most popular Hulu original, The Handmaid’s Tale is the first streaming series to win an Emmy for best drama. It follows a dystopian version of America where an ultra-strict sect has overthrown the US government and women are relegated to servitude. The story is based on a novel, but has now passed the novel’s story and is into its own narrative (and an even further expansion is planned). The fourth season should drop sometime in late summer or fall.

Nine Perfect Strangers – Late 2020 or early 2021

If you enjoyed Big Little Lies, you know the work of author Liane Moriarty. Another one of her books hits the small screen later this year (or maybe early 2021) in the form of Nine Perfect Strangers. The series follows Nicole Kidman, director of a remote health resort, as she dedicates herself to bettering her stressed out guests. In the middle of luxurious living, her guests end up finding out just how much help they need and how much work it’s going to take.

If you’re not a Hulu subscriber, plans start as low as $5.99 a month for their ad-supported version.
