There are a growing number of streaming services that offer original programming, and that has raised the question of which service has the best original programs. Is it Netflix, Paramount+, Max, Apple TV+, or some other service?

Increasingly some of the best TV out there si not on cable TV. Many of the biggest new TV shows, like Yellowstone, Star Trek, Star Wars, and more, are only available streaming online. With so many options, the question now is which streaming service should get our hard-earned dollars?

So we asked our readers which service has the best original programming, and you let us know. According to our readers, Netflix overwhelmingly has the best original programming, followed by Paramount+ and Apple TV+.

Here is how our survey was broken out according to our readers.

Recently we learned that Netflix’s U.S. catalog is now made up of over half of original content. It seems this mass collection of original programs has helped push Netflix to be the most popular streaming service for original programs.

Paramount+ has been working hard to focus on original programs, and it seems to be paying off. With a huge collection of Star Trek originals and other programs has helped push it to be the second most popular option for original programming.

Apple TV+ has maybe the smallest catalog of original programs of the top 3 streaming services, but it has focused heavily on big blockbuster shows. With recent hits like Silo, it seems that Apple TV+ has found a way to stand out as there are ever more options for Americans to watch TV.

Peacock at 1% may surprise many as it has one of the biggest recent hits with Yellowstone. To help Peacock stand out recently, it has focused heavily on sports to help attract new subscribers. This fall, for example, Big Ten football will come to Peacock.

The other surprise maybe Disney+ at just 7%. Disney+ has had a long list of original hits with Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney classics. Now though, it seems cord cutters are saying the best content is on Paramount+ and Netflix.

Do you agree with this list? What is ranked too high or too low?
