John Krasinski has a lot of titles under his belt, loveable sitcom goofball, action hero, producer, and now… News Anchor? Jim Halpert has come a long way. Last week, Krasinski debuted his at-home, mock evening news show to bring a smile to the internet amid uncertain times.
You’ve probably seen it already circulating around the web. His show, “Some Good News,” is clearly shot in his home office with a hand-lettered graphic behind him. (And the opening globe spinning effect adds to the quirky charm.) Krasinski said it was time to create a show dedicated entirely to good news, and just like that, Some Good News was born.
Krasinksi reached out to his Twitter followers to share uplifting stories that happened to them that week, and they delivered. The show is filled with good news including stories celebrating healthcare workers who are working around the clock to combat coronavirus, and a virtual welcome home parade for a young chemo patient. Plus, “entertainment correspondent” Steve Carrell joins for a special interview celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Office.
As of now, the video has over 10 million views and the Some Good News YouTube channel has more than 800k followers. Want to be featured on the show? Today John Krasinki announced episode 2 of SGN is happening.
Alright let’s do this!
