Are you ready for more sports on your TV? Warner Bros. Discovery is overhauling TruTV with a heavy focus on sports according to a report from Variety. This comes as increasingly what people are still watching on live TV is sports.

According to the report TruTV will now show alternate broadcasts of games airing on TBS and TNT. Recently, ESPN has had success with that strategy, especially with its alternative feeds on ESPN2 of Monday Night Football. We have also seen Disney and Paramount do alternative feeds of NFL games focused on younger viewers. Now, it seems Warner Bros. Discovery hopes to do the same.

TruTV has recently been airing mostly reruns of “Impractical Jokers” and “World Dumbest.” Now, it looks like Warner Bros. Discovery is hoping sports will attract more viewers. With this move, you will also see “Impractical Jokers” move to TBS.

“We are constantly striving to create and deliver the best sports content and experiences to sports fans wherever they are, and this is an exciting opportunity to expand the reach of our premium TNT Sports programming with greater consistency throughout the year,” said Luis Silberwasser, chairman and CEO of TNT Sports, in a statement to Variety. “By creating a primetime block of sports programming on TruTV, in addition to our existing premium live sports on TNT and TBS, we are now able to deliver a more comprehensive sports offering for our fans, while generating additional growth opportunities for our sports division and strategic business and league partners.”

TruTV will also have a nightly sports show call The Line and Handles. TruTV will also air sports related movies, documentaries, and other sports programs.

In 2023 most of the top 100 most watched programs where spots with the NFL dominating that list. Other popular sports include the NBA something TNT has rights to.

This change will happen this month just in time for March Madness and the rest of the NBA season.
