When eyeing a new TV in your living room, you take a look at your space and inevitably ask, could I go bigger? Thanks to Walmart and augmented reality, you can be sure before you walk into a store.

Walmart is expanding the “View in Your Home” feature in its app to show 7,000 AR-enabled products fit in your living space.

The app launched in beta form last September and included just 300 apps. But the company said that feedback was so positive it expanded the program to include thousands more products.

Augmented reality, or AR, has been touted as one of the next big tech trends, with everyone from Apple and its Vision Pro goggles to Google betting big on development. The idea of utilizing a digital version of a product superimposed in your home is one of the more practical applications that help consumers understand the benefit. Ikea, for instance, already offers this capability in its app.

View in Your Home connects to your phone’s camera to provide a realistic view of how selections will look in your home. You can move furniture and decor around a room to virtually decorate. The app also lets you select different colors if that option is available for an item. You can move your phone around to get a full room view of all your selections at different angles.

If the look you’ve assembled isn’t quite right, the app will suggest complementary items to help complete your design. Tap the Similar Item tab to see related items with your specifications already in mind.

View in Your Home let shoppers see how televisions fit into their home theater before finalizing a purchase as of last September.

The app now features products including indoor as well as outdoor furniture, electronics, lighting, and more. Customers can place multiple items in a room simultaneously to see the final look of a variety of purchases.

While not the first or the only virtual shopping app available, it does have a vivid camera feature providing a realistic view of your pending purchases.

Walmart is rolling out View in Your Home on iOS. Download the latest version of the Walmart app to get access. To see a complete list of AR-enabled products currently available, check out View in Your Home.
