Did you buy some movies on Vudu in SD? You may now have access to that movie in HD. It looks like Vudu has started to upgrade these SD movie purchases to HD. Yesterday a poster on Reddit first spotted this and others have started to report receiving the free upgrades.

It is now clear what movies will be updated it does look like Sony movies are getting the upgrades as are a few other studios.

You may find a note in your Vudu account transaction history that you received a free upgrade. Others are saying they just found an HD option for some of the movies they own including the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Recently Walmart announced plans to focus more on Vudu and this may be the first step in that push. Walmart had planned on launching a Netflix like streaming services but after studying current streaming market Walmart walked away from these plans and now will double down on Vudu.
