Vizio announced today that John R. Burbank has been appointed to its Board of Directors. With a background in media, analytics, marketing, and telecommunications, Burbank will help guide the company in both leveraging hardware and further growing the SmartCast platform.

John R. Burbank has served as President of Strategy and Corporate Development for the Nielsen Company, where he led the team developing data products with partners including Facebook, Alibaba, and Tencent. Burbank previously held senior roles at AOL, AT&T, and Procter & Gamble.
