Vidgo Channels List

The recently launched cable-alternative service Vidgo is turning heads with its high number of channels and affordable monthly price. Vidgo offers a few plans to choose from. Its “Core” base plan is solid for your average TV viewer who wants the essential channels, while the upgraded “Plus” plan is for those who simply want it all. Vidgo Plus tosses in tons of additional channels like CMT Music, NFL RedZone, and PAC-12 networks.

Is Español your primary language? You’re in luck! Vidgo is one of the few OTT streaming services that provide options for Spanish speaking audiences. There are 2 Spanish-language plans to choose from in Vidgo Latino and the hardier Latino Más.

With all of these options, it’s a tad frustrating figuring out which plan has what channels. Fortunately, we’ve done the hard work for you and created Vidgo channel lists for all 4 plans. Find out what plan works best for you below.

While Vidgo includes pretty much all the recognizable national programming you know and love, there are a few networks that are missing. There are fewer Vidgo news sources than what you’d get with traditional TV services. You may notice news networks like BBC America, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, and Weather Channel are nowhere to be found. Vidgo also lacks favorite entertainment channels like AMC, Bravo, E!, Music Choice, Oxygen, PBS, Syfy, TBS, TCM, The CW, truTV, and USA. And if you’re a sports fan, you won’t have access to games televised on CBS, NBA TV, NBC, NBC Sports, and TNT.

Let’s take a look at what channels are available with Vidgo’s Spanish-language plans.

Vidgo local channels

Local channels aren’t so cut and dry. So, depending on your market area, you may receive access to available local ABC and FOX channels. But as you may have already noticed, Vidgo doesn’t carry any local CBS or NBC channels. Yet, depending on where you live, you might at least be able to tune into some regional sports networks (RSNs).

However, if you want to receive all possible local channels in your market area, you may want to consider a high-definition digital antenna to use alongside your Vidgo plan.

Vidgo sports channels

Considering its price, Vidgo does a pretty decent job in the sports department. Most streaming services have had to raise their prices to include the demand for every sports channel. So, it makes sense that for $40/mo., there may be a few sports networks missing. But, if you’re a die-hard sports fan, you may want to consider fuboTV as a way to stream every game.

Vidgo Core carries all the ESPN networks like ACC Network, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN Deportes, ESPNews, ESPNU, and SEC Network. And surprisingly, Vidgo Core even goes beyond that with beIN Sports, Big Ten Network, FOX Deportes, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, and PAC-12 Networks.

It’s safe to say that Vidgo Core delivers the lion’s share of sports programming. But, there are still a few goodies with Vidgo Plus. These include NFL RedZone and PAC-12 regional networks — PAC-12 Arizona, PAC-12 Bay Area, PAC-12 Los Angeles, PAC-12 Mountain, PAC-12 Oregon, and PAC-12 Washington.

Vidgo add-ons

Most cable-alternative services provide channel and feature add-ons to upgrade and personalize your package. Vidgo, however, doesn’t offer any such add-ons at this time. So, what you see is what you get. It’s pretty straightforward.

Vidgo doesn’t have a DVR feature, but it does have a playback tool that’ll let you jump back within the past 24 hours to rewatch popular channels. And there’s also an on-demand library comprised of the programming Vidgo carries.

How do Vidgo’s channels compare to competitors?

We’ve outlined all the channels you can expect with each of Vidgo’s plans. But how does Vidgo compare against other OTT cable-alternative services? We’ve ranked the best services with the categories that you care about.

For entertainment channels: Philo

When it comes down to pure entertainment, Philo takes the edge. But there’s a good reason for that (as well as a few drawbacks). Philo sacrifices costly news and sports channels to keep its price low. So, when it comes to entertainment and lifestyle channels, Philo provides you with 63 channels for $20/mo. Its channel list consists of channels like A&E, AMC, Animal Planet, Comedy Central, Discovery, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, History Channel, IFC, MTV, Nickelodeon, TLC, and Travel Channel. So, even though Philo only focuses on entertainment, at least you’ll get an impressive range of networks.

For sports fans: fuboTV

fuboTV cut its teeth in the streaming game by providing live sports. And even now, as a complete cable-alternative service, fuboTV continues to deliver local and nationwide sports coverage. Just note that available local channels and RSNs are dependent on your market area. But you can expect the cream of the crop with channels like ACC Network, beIN Sports, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN,  ESPN 2, ESPN Deportes HD, ESPNews, ESPNU, FOX Deportes, FOX Soccer Plus, MLB Network, NBA TV, NBC Sports Network, NFL Network, and NFL Redzone. And that’s only naming a few.

For newsworthy channels: Sling TV

Since Sling TV focuses on letting you build your ideal TV package, there are channel bundle add-ons that are grouped into categories. That way, you can choose the type of programming you like best. So, on top of news-centric networks like BBC America, CNN, FOX News, and MSNBC, you could add the “News Extra” add-on for $5/mo. — it includes 13 more news channels like BBC World News, CNBC, FOX Business, NewsMax TV, and RT America.

For kids: Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV includes Hulu’s infamous video-on-demand (VOD) library that contains kid-focused content like Animaniacs, Gravity Falls, Teen Titans Go!, and The Powerpuff Girls. You’ll also be able to keep the youngsters entertained with kid-approved movies like Coraline, Elf, Dolittle, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. And this on-demand content is in addition to live TV channels from Boomerang and Cartoon Network to Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD.

Overall value: Vidgo

Compared to the other major OTT services out there, Vidgo is the most affordable for the channels you get. Vidgo Core is priced competitively at $40/mo. for over 68 channels. To add a little perspective here, Sling TV’s Orange + Blue plan costs $45/mo. for 53 channels, and Hulu + Live TV is raising its price to $64.99/mo. on December 18, 2020 for 65+ channels. So, Vidgo Core builds you up with the most channels for the lowest prices.

Vidgo Plus costs $50/mo. and includes all of the channels in Vidgo Core and more. With Vidgo Latino ($15/mo.), you’ll receive 14 top Spanish-language channels. That almost works out to a buck a channel! Latino Más starts at $25/mo. for 32 Spanish-language channels.

The final cut

Vidgo carries a healthy diversity of programming that checks the boxes for entertainment, lifestyle, news, and sports coverage. In fact, compared to the most popular streaming services like Hulu + Live TV and fuboTV, Vidgo provides you with more channels for a cheaper monthly price. Vidgo’s drawbacks include its lack of certain channels like Cartoon Network and TNT, as well as local channels and RSNs (such as CBS and NBC). But you can at least find a solution for local programming with the one-time cost of a digital antenna.
