“Pairing Sparkler’s capabilities with our curriculum-driven content will fully transform Noggin into a premier interactive learning destination for preschoolers and their families. Kristen brings extensive experience in the education and technology space, and she will help drive Noggin’s growth with an increased focus on delivering even greater value to our direct-to-consumer service,” said Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins in a statement from Viacom.
This all comes a few months after Viacom announced that they have closed on that deal and now own Pluto TV for $340 million in cash. This deal will give Viacom full control over Pluto TV and its future. For some time now Viacom has hinted at plans for a free streaming service now it seems that buying Pluto TV is how they will do it.
The question now is what is next for Viacom in the world of streaming. Viacom has gone from a company that seemed to care very little about streaming to jumping into the world of streaming with both feet.
