Verizon is bringing together competing streaming services for a special discounted bundle package. Verizon already rolled out an exclusive free 12 month Netflix Premium subscription to customers earlier this year, though this new myPlan +play promotion is going to cost customers, albeit slightly less than getting each service separately.
“This new and distinctive streaming bundle on Verizon’s +play is yet another example of our commitment to offering consumers universal distribution and industry-leading deals. By partnering with Verizon, we are making our broad and popular streaming offering on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME just that more accessible,” said Jeff Shultz, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Business Development Officer at Paramount Streaming.
This is the first time the two streaming services have been included in a bundle deal. The Verizon myPlan +play perk includes Netflix Premium and Paramount+ with Showtime starting today for only $25.99 a month. The Verizon myPlan +play bundle is estimated to save customers around $70 a year compared to individual memberships.
In an announcement Chief Content Officer of Verizon Consumer Group, Erin McPherson said:
“With partners like Netflix and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME on +play, we’re leading the industry in offering customers the content they want, with never-before-seen bundles they can’t get anywhere else. And now with +play as a perk offered with myPlan, we’re looking forward to even more customers taking advantage of the savings we have to offer. This marks a milestone for both Verizon and the streaming industry, and we’re grateful and excited to be in it with these partners.”
Verizon’s myPlan provides customers with over 30 partnered services, including entertainment, education, lifestyle, fitness, and more. The plan costs $30 a month for the 5G Unlimited Welcome package or $45 for the 5G Ultra Wideband Unlimited Plus plan for at least four lines.
