Today Verizon announced several improvements to its 5G Home Internet Service. These improvements include a new gateway that includes WiFi 6E and Tri-Band for even faster internet.
“The new Verizon Internet Gateway is our next generation modem and router all in one device. Once again, Verizon has leveraged all the latest wireless and in-home technologies like, wifi 6e, and tri-band, giving our customers better coverage, better upload speeds, exceptional Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home and the best signal strength yet. Plus, the new design features LED lights that show customers real-time signal strength so that they can make adjustments to ensure that they’re getting optimal coverage throughout the home. This new design also helps in the setup process to provide customers constant feedback that they weren’t getting before.”
Verizon also says the Verizon Receiver, that launched last year, is now available in all markets, allowing 5G Home Internet business customers to take advantage of all the bands Verizon Wireless Network offers for even better internet. This allows 5G Home Internet customers to find the fastest wireless Verizon has and use it when others get busy.
Verizon Wireless customers with these new devices should notice an improved internet experience, helping them stream their favorite programs even faster. Exactly how much faster was not announced today. The WiFi 6E will also help customers take advantage of even faster WiFi inside their homes. WiFi 6E offers faster speeds and the ability to manage even more devices on your network compared to older models.

Right now, you can get fast 5G home internet from Verizon starting at just $25 a month, but if you wait until later this week, that price is going up to $50 a month. Today Verizon started to notify customers that after August 23rd, 2023, the current 50% off for Verizon Wireless customer’s offer will be ending, and they will need to pay full price. Verizon also posted a message on its site notifying customers of the upcoming change.
Verizon has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that Verizon Wireless customers on qualifying plans will still be able to get a discount on 5G Home Internet. The plans will now cost $35 a month for the Unlimited Welcome plan and $45 for the Unlimited Plus plan.
To get the $25 a month pricing, you need to have a qualifying 5G Mobile plan from Verizon and be signed up for auto pay along with paperless billing. With that, you can, for now, lock in your $25 a month home internet and a free year of NFL Sunday Ticket from YouTube and YouTube TV.
