Verizon has raised the price of its 5G Home Plus Internet Service for customers with qualifying wireless plans, a change that took sometime earlier this week. This change only impacts Verizon’s premium tier and only for customers who want the discount for all having a wireless plan. Now, its 5G Home Plus service has jumped from $45 to $55 per month for those pairing it with a Verizon wireless plan, reducing the bundle discount from $35 to $25 off the standard $80 monthly rate. The move leaves the standalone 5G Home Plus price unchanged at $80, while the standard 5G Home Internet Service holds steady at $35 with a wireless plan or $60 without, highlighting that only the Plus tier’s wireless discount has been affected.

These price hikes are only for new customers as existing Verizon customers won’t see their price change until their price lock ends, which is 3 or 5 years, depending on when you bought the service.

The 5G Home Plus plan, Verizon’s top-tier fixed wireless offering, boasts download speeds of 300 to 1,000 Mbps, unlimited data, and perks. Launched as a competitive alternative to cable and fiber, it’s marketed toward households with heavy streaming, gaming, or multi-device needs. The standard 5G Home plan, by contrast, delivers 85 to 300 Mbps with a two-year price lock, catering to lighter usage. Both leverage Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network, available in over 900 cities, but the Plus tier’s enhanced speeds and extras have made it a popular upsell—until now, when bundled savings took a hit.

This all comes as Verizon is making a strong push to attract new customers to its 5G Home Internet service with a compelling new offer. The company is offering 12 months of free Netflix and Max, along with a $200 Amazon gift card, to customers who sign up for its 5G Home Plus plan. This limited-time promotion, combined with a price lock for 5 years and a competitive monthly rate of $45, makes Verizon’s 5G Home Internet a compelling alternative to traditional cable internet.

All the new additions added to the 5G Home Plus internet plan do offer more than $10s of added value to the internet package.

The inclusion of 12 months of free Netflix and Max adds significant value to the offer, providing access to a vast library of movies, TV shows, and original content. The $200 Amazon gift card further sweetens the deal, providing customers with the flexibility to purchase whatever they want from the online retail giant.

The price shift comes as Verizon touts its 5G Home Internet’s growth, reaching over 40 million households by early 2025, per company reports. Yet, it follows a pattern of adjustments—last summer, new bundled customers saw a $10 increase from $25 to $35, and older unlimited mobile plans rose by $4 in 2024. For now, the standard 5G Home plan’s pricing holds firm, offering relief to budget-conscious users. With no contracts or equipment fees, customers can still walk away.
