Today it was revealed that Twitter, Inc, the long-time parent company of Twitter.com, is no more. Instead, Twitter has been merged into X Corp according to a report from Ars Technica. This is reportedly part of Elon Muscs plan to build an everything app that will do everything you need in a single place.

This move will reportedly also help Twitter separate itself from all of the contracts and legal issues of the old Twitter, Inc.

Already in China WeChat is very similar to the idea. There you can do a wide range of functions, not just tweet. Many have been trying to figure out how to have everything work in a single unified app instead of needing 100+ apps on their phone.

Elon has raised the idea of merging together Twitter, SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and the Boring Company into a single company called X. This would let all the companies work together and share resources, also cutting costs for Elon Musk.

The question now is, what exactly is this Everything app? Will you really want to watch your TV shows in the same app that you do your banking? Though many would love the simplification of having everything in one place through one login.

According to a report, Elon Musk had hoped to turn Twitter into the Everything app over the next five years. For now though no official timeline has been announced.
