‘Turning Red’ Leads Nielsen’s Streaming Chart with 1.7 Billion Minutes Viewed

Disney/Pixar’s latest release Turning Red reached the top spot overall on Nielsen’s streaming chart two weeks after its initial release date of February 21. The coming-of-age story clocked 1.7 billion minutes of viewership, making it the most-watched title for the week of March 7 – 13.

Netflix content made up a good chunk of the rest of the list with The Last Kingdom reaching 1.4 billion minutes across its 46 episodes, followed by Pieces of Her and The Adam Project.

In terms of Originals, Netflix and Amazon switched back and forth with the highest ranking titles, with Inventing Anna and The Marvelsous Mrs. Maisel following the two leaders. Love is Blind also continued to rank high on the list, as did Ozark which will drop the final season later this month.

Netflix also continues to see success with its acquired series Good Girls. The addition of Season 4 on the streaming service put it as the leader in the Acquired category, followed by more consistent titles we’re used to seeing including NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, and more.

With Turning Red and The Adam Project leading the Movies category with well over 1 billion minutes each, Encanto took third place as a fan favorite. Shrek 1 and 2 were next after Netflix added the animated classics at the beginning of last month. Netflix also had hits with Originals A Madea Homecoming and The Weekend Away starring Leighton Meester.
