Free streaming service Tubi announced today that it will be expanding its “News on Tubi” section to include nearly 80 live, local news feeds from stations around the country. The new channels come from Cox Media Group, Heart Television, Scripps, and TEGNA.

News on Tubi currently features content from FOX Television Stations, NewsNOW from FOX, FOX SOUL, Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg Quicktake, NBC News NOW, CBC, PeopleTV, WeatherNation, Cheddar, Altice USA’s News 12 New York, fubo Sports Network, Black News Channel, Euronews, and Estrella News. This year, the free streaming service will focus on adding local news to the lineup. With the additional channels, streamers will be able to watch nearly 100 local station feeds covering 58 markets as the stations are rolled out throughout the year.

“Since News on Tubi launched in October, Tubi viewers have instantly taken hold of its value as a destination for a variety of free news choices, and we’re excited to bring the most comprehensive local news offering to streaming,” said Farhad Massoudi, CEO of Tubi. “With live broadcasts covering nearly all of the top US markets, Tubi is the AVOD home for local news around the country.”

Tubi shared in August that it had reached 33 million active users. The app is available on Android and iOS devices, Amazon Echo Show, Google Nest Hub Max, Comcast Xfinity X1, Cox Contour, and on OTT devices such as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Vizio TVs, Sony TVs, Samsung TVs, Hisense TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X  & S.
