Tubi has released the first season of Tom and Jerry: The Chuck Jones Collection. The animated comedy series debuted in 1965 and fans quickly fell in love with the escalating antics of Tom chasing down Jerry, whose quick thinking saves him from being eaten while proving to Tom time and time again he might not be the house security expert he thinks he is. The shorts continued through 1967.

Cartoon News Network made an announcement yesterday via Twitter. The first season, containing nine episodes, is ready for viewing on Tubi.

The cat and mouse rivalry was originally shown in theaters before airing on traditional television. Tom and Jerry: The Chuck Jones Collection was released by Warner Home Video on a two-disc DVD set back in 2009. Produced by Chuck Jones, the collection of 34 animated shorts also included two documentaries covering the rascals.

If you’ve never seen Tom and Jerry before, now is a great time to start. As described by Tubi:

“Follow the madcap adventures of the original game of cat and mouse as Tom, an ordinary gray and white house cat, of no great intelligence, is driven by three goals: To eat, to sleep, and to catch the mouse, Jerry… and eat him. Meanwhile, Jerry, a quick-witted, audacious little mouse who lives in the house with Tom, can never seem to stop himself from teasing his feline nemesis… his greatest pleasure comes from thwarting Jerry’s every attempt to catch him.”
