Tubi secured the exclusive U.S. and Canadian rights to Devil’s Peak, a South African limited series.

The five-episode action-packed crime thriller will debut on Tubi, Fox’s free ad-supported streaming platform, on January 15. Devil’s Peak is based on the best-selling novel by Deon Myer and produced by Lookout Point and Expanded Media Productions in association with MultiChoice Studios and BBC Studios.

The series takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, and follows Detective Benny Griessel, played by Hilton Pelser, tasked with tracking a vigilante killer whose crimes capture the city’s attention. As he closes in on his mark, Griessel is drawn into a dark and dangerous world where nothing is as it seems.

“Devil’s Peak is a gripping crime drama that showcases the talent as well as the unique landscape of South Africa,” said Adam Lewinson, chief content officer at Tubi. “Tubi is committed to providing our diverse audiences with an extensive selection of premium content, and Devil’s Peak promises to captivate U.S. audiences as it has in other parts of the world.”

Devil’s Peak stars Pelser (Moffie, Dangerous Liaisons), Sisanda Henna (Trackers, Rogue), and Tarryn Wyngaard (The Watch, Raised By Wolves). The limited series is written by Matthew Orton (Operation Finale, Moon Knight), who adapted the series for television with Amy Jephta and directed by Jozua Malherbe (Griekwastad, Justice Served) along with Orton, Laura Lankester, and Francis Hopkinson.
