In a landmark move for the radio industry, iHeartMedia and Audacy, the United States’ two largest radio operators, announced a transformative content distribution partnership on June 30, 2025. This unprecedented collaboration will integrate Audacy’s extensive portfolio of over 240 AM/FM radio stations and podcasts into the iHeartRadio digital platform, significantly expanding the reach of both companies and reshaping the audio entertainment landscape.
The partnership brings Audacy’s diverse array of stations, spanning news, sports, music, and talk formats, to iHeartRadio’s robust digital ecosystem. Accessible on over 500 platforms and devices—including smart speakers, digital dashboards, mobile apps, gaming consoles, and smart TVs—this move ensures that Audacy’s content is now available to millions of listeners wherever they consume audio. The deal also includes Audacy’s growing podcast catalog, further enriching iHeartRadio’s already extensive library of on-demand content.
Michael Biondo, iHeartMedia’s President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, hailed the partnership as a pivotal moment for the industry. “This is an exciting day for our industry as the addition of Audacy’s stations to iHeartRadio maximizes radio’s presence across the country as the most listened to and trusted medium for audiences and consumers,” Biondo said. “This move gives our listeners even more opportunities to connect with the stations and content most relevant to them, aligning with our mission to always meet our audiences where they are and enhance their experience.”
For Audacy, the partnership aligns with its strategic vision of omnipresence in the audio space. Chris Oliviero, Audacy’s Chief Business Officer, emphasized the significance of the collaboration. “We believe in the power of being everywhere, and this partnership is a meaningful step in our strategy to ensure our iconic stations, talent, and programming are available wherever and however audio is consumed,” Oliviero stated. “By joining forces with iHeartRadio’s expansive platform, we’re amplifying our ability to deliver high-quality content to diverse audiences nationwide.”
The partnership comes at a time when the audio industry is undergoing rapid transformation, with digital platforms playing an increasingly critical role in how consumers access content. By combining forces, iHeartMedia and Audacy aim to strengthen radio’s position as a dominant medium in the face of growing competition from streaming services and on-demand platforms. Industry analysts see the move as a strategic alignment that could set a precedent for further collaboration in the sector.
Listeners can expect seamless access to Audacy’s beloved stations, including major market staples like New York’s 1010 WINS, Los Angeles’ KROQ, and Philadelphia’s KYW Newsradio, alongside iHeartRadio’s existing offerings. The integration is expected to roll out in phases, with full availability across iHeartRadio’s platforms by the end of 2025. This partnership not only enhances listener choice but also underscores the enduring relevance of radio in an increasingly digital world.
