Recently, we asked our readers to vote for their favorite companies, services, and devices of the year. Today, we’re announcing the winner of our award for the best new streaming device of 2019.
The new version of the Roku Ultra takes the award with 44% of the votes. Coming in second place is the Fire TV Stick 4K with 23.1% of the votes. Next up is the 2019 Roku Express with 11.8% of the votes, followed by the 2019 Nvidia Shield with 5.8% of the votes.
In total, Roku took over 55% of the total votes for favorite devices of the year.
Roku announced their new lineup in September of this year, with new devices that included a new and improved Roku Ultra along with a smaller Roku Express. Updates included a new programmable remote for the Roku Ultra and a smaller size with more power for the Roku Express.
Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick 4K has allowed more users enjoy a complete 4K Ultra HD streaming experience with a great device at an affordable price point. The new Fire TV Stick 4K comes with an Alexa Voice Remote, making it easy to connect all of your Amazon devices and use voice commands for controlling power and volume along with finding, launching, and controlling content.
After much anticipation and some leaked details in the weeks leading up, Nvidia officially announced two new Nvidia Shield Android TV streaming players at the end of October. Updates included a new HD to 4K AI upscale and an updated remote with back lighting.
