roku stick plusOn Friday Roku announced that the Roku Stick+ is getting a price cut to just $49.99 plus a new remote. This morning Roku made the price change official by cutting the price of the Roku Stick+ down to $49.99.

This is not a short term sale but a permanent price drop according to Roku. The Roku Stick+ will also get a slightly upgraded Roku remote with a new mute button for your TV in addition to the ability to power on and off your TV and change the volume. Sadly right now even on Roku’s website, it looks like Roku is still selling the old remote without the mute button as it seems Roku is still clearing out the older 2018 version of the Roku Stick+.

This new price drop will make the Roku Stick+ the same price as the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K helping Roku compete with budget-minded customers.

The 2018 version of the Roku Express has also seen a slight price drop down to $26.99. The 2019 version of the Roku Express has the same performance but in a slightly smaller form and lower power consumption for $29.99. So if you want an extremely cheap Roku checkout the Roku Express.

Here is our review of the Roku Stick+: (Note without the new and improved 2019 remote.)
