The NFL Network Officially Renews Their PlayStation Vue Distribution Deal

Playstation vue logoToday the NFL Network officially announced a renewal of their contract with PlayStation Vue. Cord Cutters News first reported this news back on August 12th but today the NFL Network made it official.

“PlayStation Vue subscribers receiving NFL Network and NFL RedZone will also continue to have access to the services through NFL.com and the NFL and NFL Network apps across multiple devices. To get these channels, NFL Network will be included in the Core plan for $54.99/month on PS Vue. NFL RedZone will be included in the Sports Pack, which goes for $10.00/month (requires Core or higher package).” The NFL Network said in a statement on their website.

Sony has posted new warnings this month saying Eleven Sports and NBA TV are both coming up for renewal in August and September. Talks like this are not new. Typically, a deal is made without blackouts. And, if the NBA TV is dropped from PlayStation Vue that does not mean it couldn’t return in the future.

Here is the warning Sony has posted on their website about a possible blackout on PlayStation Vue:

Upcoming Renewals

Most of the programming/content you watch on PlayStation™Vue is licensed from programmers for the right to air their networks/channels. Once these agreements near expiration, we enter into renewal discussions where we work hard to try and obtain the best value for our customers. Though infrequent, sometimes certain licenses will not be renewed, in which case PlayStation™Vue would no longer carry the affected channels or networks. This section will be updated periodically to list channels and networks coming up for renewal. Please note that the dates listed below are subject to change.
