Back in July Sony warned about a possible NFL Network blackout if a new contract could not be reached by the end of July 2019. According to reports Sony reached a short term deal that allowed them to keep the NFL Network past the August 1st deadline as talks continued. Now it appears that Sony and the NFL Network have reached a new long term contract as Sony as finally removed the warning about the NFL Network leaving PlayStation Vue.

Sony has posted new warnings this month saying Eleven Sports and NBA TV are both coming up for renewal in August and September. Talks like this are not new. Typically, a deal is made without blackouts. And, if the NBA TV is dropped from PlayStation Vue that does not mean it couldn’t return in the future.

Here is the warning Sony has posted on their website about a possible blackout on PlayStation Vue:

Upcoming Renewals

Most of the programming/content you watch on PlayStation™Vue is licensed from programmers for the right to air their networks/channels. Once these agreements near expiration, we enter into renewal discussions where we work hard to try and obtain the best value for our customers. Though infrequent, sometimes certain licenses will not be renewed, in which case PlayStation™Vue would no longer carry the affected channels or networks. This section will be updated periodically to list channels and networks coming up for renewal. Please note that the dates listed below are subject to change.

August 2019

  • Eleven Sports

September 2019

  • NBA TV
