Today Amazon announced that they will be updating the Fire TV Stick by adding a new remote. This new remote will add the ability to control your TV’s power and volume like the remote that launched with the Fire TV Stick 4K. Now you can find it for sale on Amazon’s website HERE.

The best news is the Fire TV Stick will still be sold at just $39.99 even with the new remote. The new remote will begin shipping to customers in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and India on January 23. This is the first time the Fire TV Stick and Alexa Voice Remote are available for purchase together in Canada.

In a statement sent to Cord Cutters News, Amazon said, “Fire TV Stick with the all-new Alexa Voice Remote is the first new Fire TV device to ship with IMDb Freedive in the US, meaning you can now watch thousands of Hollywood hits and TV favorites for free from IMDb Freedive, Sony Crackle, TubiTV, Pluto TV, and more—all with no paid subscription required. You can also experience tens of thousands of channels, apps, and Alexa skills, and browse millions of websites like YouTube, Facebook, and Reddit.”
